Ah September, one of my favourite months. Its the doorway to Autumn, my favourite season, the month when the world begins to look a little different and the month in which I got married. So, I thought I’d do a little round up of how our September panned out.
Banana Started School!
That’s right, my first born child, the one I held in my arms for the first time, just 5 minutes ago (or so it seems!) started her formal education journey. You can read my feelings about this in A letter to my daughter starting school.
I am pleased to report, that so far, she loves school and goes in every morning with a spring in her step and a smile on her face! Phew!
We’ve Been Enjoying a Bountiful Harvest!
A lot of our Autumn Bucket List 2016 activities this month have involved making the most of and enjoying nature’s late summer/ early Autumn bounty.
We have picked Hazelnuts which you can read about HERE
And we also visited a community orchard and picked apples and pears HERE
We now have enough apples to feed an army, so we’re munching, baking and printing our way through them happily! We also plan to continue this theme by picking our own pumpkins in October so stay tuned for that. 🙂
I’ve been enjoying quality time with Duckling.
As much as we miss her big sister during the day, its nice to have some quality one on one time with my youngest. So we’re making the most of having lots of lovely time together, running little errands, playing on the floor with her toys, having playdates and toddler groups and, of course, we’re really loving our Muddy Mondays which you can see Here and Here.
I publish a new Muddy activity every Monday, so pop back next week for that.
We Celebrated 4 Years of Marriage
28th September is our wedding anniversary, and this year was our 4th anniversary (Although we’ve been together for almost 15!)
Four years ago today, I made the most important promise of my life…a promise to love him, regardless of how hard it gets. To stand by his side, whatever the circumstances. To hold him close despite differences we may have. Marriage is more than being in love through the good. It’s making a commitment to stick together and work hard at it, come what may. So far our life together has held far more ups than downs, but every year I remind myself of the promise I made…to love, always. And so I do. 💕💕💕
To celebrate, we’re off to stay in a log cabin in Warwickshire, this weekend to have some much needed ‘grown up’ time. So if anyone needs me I’ll be in the private hot tub drinking champers! I will, of course, blog about our getaway next week 🙂
We remember a special someone…
Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the passing of my beloved ‘step-mum’ Bec. Who battled cancer bravely and tirelessly, but tragically passed away aged just 36, leaving behind two young children (Who by the way, are doing amazingly!) and a whole multitude of heartbroken family and friends. I miss her dearly and think about her every day…but today, we make a special effort to remember this wonderful lady who touched the lives of so many. Love you Bec xxx
September has been fantastic! Bring on October!
